A Form cannot make a non-updateable query into an updateable one. You need to
fix the Query instead!

Ok, I've been messing with this problem all day (for those of you who have
been following me, I'm so sorry!). But I think I finally figured out the root
of my problem. I have created a form that allows users to enter in an
employee's clock number using a combo box and it automatically generates the
employee's name in a text box next to it by pulling information from the
Employee Data table. This data shows up fine in the form view and the
datasheet view. However, when I open the table up that this data is being

I "copied" a form from a pdf, and "pasted" it to a create a form, and
added fields to it and it worked fine, until recently. I tried to
print it and Access "encounters an error". Since I couldn't figure it
out, I recopied the form only from the pdf form and pasted it,
creating a new form. I just tried to print the form without adding
any fields, and it still "encounters an error" when I try to just
print it. Other forms work, and this one used to...what in the world
could this be, and how can I fix it.

I have created a form for transactions with an autonumber field to generate
a transactions ID. I have received a request from users of the form to be
able to roll back a new record (in the case of data entry error) so that the
transaction ID does not commit to the database. They do not want to delete
the record as this would generate 'gaps' in the transactions ID sequence eg
1, 2, 3, 5 and so on.

I have a form that among other things has two combo boxes. The first one is
fed with a simple table with two entries. I would like the second one to
display the result of a query run in the background. The idea is that based
on what the user selects in the first combo box she would get a specific set
of options in the second one.
I don't know if this is the right way to do it, but if anything else at

Setting the format property to dd-mmm-yy or Medium date always returns
xx/xx/xx even though the row sources is formatted to dd-mmm-yy with the
output of a query.
Are you setting the Format property of the combo box itself on the form? Or
of the field to which the combo box is bound?
What is the query that you're using as the combo box's Row Source? Post the
SQL statement. Which field in that query is the date field?

I just upgraded to ACCESS 2007, and so far have one difficulty. After I
create a new form, and test it, it doesn't go true full screen. I can't get
it to open without all the top Access menu bar being visible. How can I test
it on a true full screen?

A few years ago I created a form to be used with Exchange's public GAL. It
has and is working OK.
I am now running Windows 7 and Outlook 2007 and ran into this problem. When

The only workaround i know of is to type your wanted label into a text box
format it as wanted, put a white or other appropriate color and move the box
over the lable for the data.

like to do. I would like to create a "Message" that runs on the initial
startup "Autoexec" when my Access application is starte that informs the user
that some customers are within 30 days of expiring. I have already created
the query and subsequent report to list the customers. I would like the

The background of dialog box is not default system color.
Originally, I set the bk mode of the static to transparent mode
and return a NULL_BRUSH in OnCtlColor() of dialog class.
It can fit my requirement if the static text is not changed.
However, the old text is not erased if the static text is changed.
I think I need to override some function to erase background first.
